Alpha 2.17
Bugs
  • Graphical
    • Animations sometimes make the character models twist or change size.
    • Spell animations showing up where they don't belong: random bursts of color around char as I run, multiple spell animations on single cast (seeing teleport animation in addition to multi ignis): viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1341&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60#p9277
    • Plants at edge of water appear underwater.
  • Screens and Menus
    • Problem with names and deleting: certain names I've used before and since deleted the characters thereof still trigger the "name already in use." This doesn't happen for all names I've created/deleted, but just for a couple ("Lillian," from old acct, may not be deleted; "Mule," from current acct, just deleted last week but can't reuse name).
  • Items
    • Monsters and NPCs
    • PCs
      • Spell list needs to be cleared of artifacts.
      • Sometimes when attacking a monster and I trans away, my char keeps trying to attack them, running back to engage, until I target something else. Dangerous!
      • Repeated use of Vortex "jams" character--he'll start to spin, then try to start again before he completes the first attack.
      • AGI affects cast speed and Vortex speed in weird ways.
      • Vis Medus: no matter the target, the animation is around your character.
      • Targeted spell consumes MP even if you miss (i.e., there is no target).
      • If attempt to drop >= gold total, no gold drops.
    • Other
      • BSOD bug that won't die.
      • Vista file-permissions bug.
      • Bug that certain players have experienced: game breaks upon clicking "enter world": Player hears in-game sounds, but game freezes on the character selection screen. Others in-game see character appear and then quickly disappear. Once or twice I've seen the world for an instant before the game closes itself.

    Issues
    • Graphical
      • Dropped items are very difficult to see! Monsters fall on top of them, and the grass and trees cover them up. Maybe a glow around items on ground?
      • All spells/effects need to have animations/icons. (also icons are now overlapping hp/mp)
    • Screens and Menus
      • Stats screen needs work: re-writing, unification, more info (e.g., regen totals).
      • Confirm on logout so that Player doesn't accidentally log out while exiting menus.
      • Say Again, Change View, Chat Log. These all need to be bindable to keys. Right now the first two are disabled and Chat Log is stuck to 'L'.
      • Scrolling in chat log is fuxed.
    • Items
      • HP/MP steals.
      • It's difficult to pick items up: you have to click on the exact spot, which can be difficult. Perhaps it could be made less precise, or have an "auto-loot" function, press a key to loot the immediate (small-radius) area?
      • Items drag-able in inventory/storage, plz.
      • All rings stackable, plz.
    • Monsters and NPCs
      • Dragons and Golems lack sound
      • More geolings, plz, to prevent crowding.
    • PCs
      • Any EXP beyond that needed to make the next lvl is lost.
      • /kick needs to take name parameter, not just kick the nearest party-member
    • Balancing
      • We needs it.
    • Other

    Stats can now be added - but only up to 18 per attribute. (on existing characters)

    Created new character, added stats at character creation screen, logged into game - all stats are set to 10 and I have none to add.
    Leveled this new character to 2 and I did receive one point to add.

    Log onto a character, take items from storage, do not equip, log off.
    Log onto another character for whatever reason, log off.
    Log onto 1st character - items are gone from inventory. *poof*

    All items moved to/from storage are deleted. The game seems to think they're all duped.

    It's not that you can't raise a stat past 18, it's that the game makes you assign 25 points before you can raise past 18--just as if you were creating your character all over again. The first 25 points are the points you get when you create a character, and then the rest of the points are from lvls.

    I'll update the list.

    Should we also note that I had that equipped gear disappear on Hellsbane?

    To prevent an item pulled out of storage from being deleted, equip it (and then unequip if you like). This will save it from disappearing. These critical bugs should be fixed by Monday night (depending on when Karl gets a working computer again).

    Oh, and if you logged on for the first time to find items gone, that was because they were duped items, whether or not you knew it. Just talk to me in-game (I'll try to be around) and I'll replace them for you.

    How could the server consider them duped when every item I was wearing I personally found?

    I'm not sure, but I'll bet it had to do with moving them to/from storage--there were some weird problems like that with the whole item system, which it was the purpose of this update to fix. That shouldn't happen anymore, and the current problem with storage is going to be fixed Monday, so hopefully this will be the last we have to mess with the item system for a long long time. :|

    yeah i also lost eveything i used from storage, the items i found and equiped are still there, thankfully for my iron sword <3

    So I was grinding some trolls and got killed. Well right before i died i recalled, and obviously when i did it i was already dead or something to that extent. Well all the gear i had equipped i lost. So when i went back to where i had recalled to when i died i found my gear, but somehow i found everything i had except an aurelian plate and a sp sword. It just went poof. Is that supposed to happen?

    But as i see it joe, that was something you could do on xen, walk in water and swim, why dont we have it on evidyon? then you REALLY can explore!
    being an explorer swimming out to some god forsaken island.. yay!

    I like swimming quite well myself. Hopefully we'll be able to add it at some point. Right now that's just a graphical bug (I'm really under the GY, but it's showing me the above-ground terrain at those coordinates).

    the only thing keeping me from adding swimming is that I don't have an animation for it =/

    You could be really lame and use the casting animation repeatedly. If I remember correctly that actually wouldn't be far from the animation Xen used (uses?). :P

    Just tried my noob sorc out at mons. Lagged, got 2 shot and died. Luckily this was right in the initial NW corner. So I trans back within 30 secs or so....deathpile gone already.

    * Speed is still fuxed.
    * Vortex still jams itself.
    * Sq sometimes fails to protect.

    what happens with the square is that when someones in combat and dies they are still in combat when they respawn (guess your in combat for a certain amount of time) so it allows the attacker(s) to still attack you on sq.

    I keep having my gear go poof, the stuff you made me tonight joe went poof already.

    Hrm. I think this is related to the server restarting.

    Really sorry about the items disappearing, guys. I know it's a real pain. I'll try to be on as much as possible (at least on the Ventrilo chat--I'm super-busy right now, but can leave that running when I work so y'all can contact me when necessary) until we can get this server bug worked out. Hopefully that's the cause.

    Hm. I just had a death stack disappear on me real fast too. And there was no way I could have missed it: it was a spirit dragon axe lying right in the middle of earth/fire/death golems.

    Also, stats assign is messed up: ("the board attachment quota has been reached" -- oops).
    When assigning stats, you can have as your first 25 points 18/18/19/10/10 instead of 18/18/18/11/10 as it should be: after 24 points rather than 25 can you raise past 18.

    I'm almost 100% certain that there's a bug with death stacks disappearing, or individual items disappearing from death stacks.

    Also, today I was helping a lower lvl lvl get some exp. He died, I picked up his stack right away and recalled to town. He said he had dropped 3 bronze rings, I only had 1 in my inventory. And later I died and Carnage picked up my stack, and though I had lost 2 bejewled rings, they weren't with all the gear he gave back to me (unless you stole them, Marz! :P).

    So I think it's pretty safe to say there's a problem here. Added to bugs list.

    i told you i killed hellsbane and he dropped his devine aegis and something and they aswell disappeared:S and no i did not pick up 2 bejewled rings, ive got like 13 already :)

    Anyway yeah some one should fix this, once one goes to the length to kill some one for their equipment there should be benefits!, thats just equivalent trade!
