ok thats because your camera isn't pointed at it

go into object mode and right click the camera to select it, them move it around until it is facing the model like you want, and then render it

Ok not really what i meant but lemme explain it better, i wasn't at home and the computer i was on didnt have blender and i didn't feel like downloading it.

ok you gotta right click the line between the bottom menu bar and the bottom menu then hit split area, a little divider will pop up, and drag it about 2/3 along across the screen.

ok now click view and then camera to change that viewport to see what the camera sees
then in the other viewport move the camera around until you can see the object
You may also need to move the light around to get enough light on it to see it

see the red triangle, and green circle? those are for translating (moving left, right, up, down) and rotating, just move your camera around on the left view and it should show the camera in the right view (if you did view>camera of course)

you're not seeing it through the camera, change either one of the views to camera mode (zero on the numpad while your cursor is in that view)

If you want to texture different parts with different textures, when you add a shape make sure you are in object mode, because in edit mode they will all be of the same object and thus use the same texture

check my reply on the last page

you have to scale the texture to the right size / repeat it

see on the texture panels under where you loaded the image theres xrepeat and yrepeat?

those let the texture repeat along the x and y axis
