Yes, at this point you must make a donation to use the map maker. When more bugs are worked out it will become usable by the community.

WOW! Very classy! I'm glad you have been able to use the editor; I know it has a learning curve. Can you suggest changes to the controls that would make it more intuitive?

Keep em' coming! Remember--you can start building a world using the stitching tool to see how everything fits together. Make sure to keep the individual maps files separate though so we can rearrange stuff easily.

i only have a few suggestions:

You should probably put a screen shot saver into it so we can take and save pictures faster.
Zooming in and out would be alot nicer
Needs a "undo/redo" button! lol

other then that, its great

I added zooming in and out, but it will seriously bust some peoples' computers, so I want to figure out a better way to do it (as it is right now, it just pulls you back and makes your view bigger, so there gets to be 150,000+ polys on a moderately sized map...)

I'll try to add the other things for next update. Right now I'm working on the networking stuff, though :D

oh and i also have another suggestion, when someone maximizes the window it shouldnt make everything bigger it should just make you see more on the screen.

Here is my second attempt. This is more of a leveling ground, its 3 different places that are for custom classes. Its just an idea i had.

So first off, this might be a place for a fig/barb. What you do is u use attack run in the middle of the blocks and it transports u inside.
Image

and heres just a look at what the inside is like. (Probably skelly warriors or something in here)
Image

then we have a wiz/war leveling spot. To get in, they stand in the middle of the blue "+" and use muti to hit all the pillers, then it ports them in.
Image

The inside is sorta like the DS path, it is imps with a HUGE spawn
Image
Image
Image
and then it ports you out
Image

and finally, a Pally ONLY leveling spot (beacuse they suck balls at leveling 12-19). To get in, they stand on that funky thing i made (in MSPaint) and use their Omnimultum spell.
Image

and the inside is sorta just like the Fig/Barb leveling spot.

:)

My map I was thinking of having a boss in it. Maybe for a hard quest or something.
This is the entrance to the area. That's a mana pool.
Image
This is the first room here.
Image
This is part of the first room
Image
This is another part of it.
Image
This is another room. That's a health pool. This room should have adepts or something hard in it.
Image
The rest of that room is just like this.
Image
This is the entrance to the boss area.
Image
And the boss should be right behind or in front of the pool here.
Image

So.. What do you think? It was my first try and took about a half hour.

Alright... here is my first attempt at using the map editor... I'm not sure what kind of enemies would be inside... upper lvl rouges, barbarians.... something like that.. maybe a warrior to catch people off guard :P

This would be an ideal area for a boss

I couldn't find any beam crystals... or any of the points like a the 4 corners of semel sq... doors to houses... chests... are they not in yet... or is that something that I have to do..

Mana... Possibilities for the 3 different paths could be enemies only say a fighter could take down one side, a cleric down another, and a warlock down the last...

Once again, I am very impressed--your maps are very creative and seem to have substantial "character" to them. I can tell that they'll be a great addition to PV. I can't wait to run around in these worlds!

All of that stuff can be "created" using the scripting system...I'll do it at some point, I just have to get around to it :)
