Game Mechanic: Alignment [for reference]

Postby Karl G. » Wed Aug 06, 2008 2:39 pm

So here's the way alignment works in PV:

There are 5 basic alignments:

The three "Good" alignments:
Lawful Good
Neutral Good
Chaotic Good

"Evil" is the alignment of all monsters/enemies in the game
"Rogue" is the alignment of very high-level players who choose to progress into a different stage of the game (I can't say much more about this right now, but it exists)

All human players (except for the Rogues) are "Good". Which division you are (lawful/neutral/chaotic) is based on your behavior; killing Lawful or Neutral players makes you more Chaotic, killing Evil or Rogue makes you more Lawful.

NPCs also have alignment:

Lawful NPCs attack Rogue, Evil and Chaotic Good characters.
Neutral NPCs attack Rogue and Evil characters
Chaotic NPCs attack Rogue, Evil and Lawful Good characters.
Rogue NPCs attack all other characters (including Rogues)
Evil NPCs attack Rogues and all Good characters
