Was there a definitive solution to the BSOD?

Postby Cagen » Mon Sep 01, 2008 7:36 pm

So totally out of the blue I got a BSOD on Exo and now every time I try to log in I get it. Was there ever a definitive fix for this or not?

There hasn't been a definitive fix for it, but I just now got an idea! Lemme take a look at something.

Do you have an nVidia card?

Yes I actually installed that patch and it still didn't work karl :P

However, Cagen - The quick fix for me was to actually log onto that character who is BSOD'd on another computer.

Or if it helps Karl, i think you should log onto the character whilst the BSOD is occuring upon logging in, then run something that can debug or trace exactly what is happening, when logging in?

I don't know if you are still having BSOD on the character Cagen, but I think it might be worth trying that out Karl, but make sure the character is experiancing the BSOD first f all before logging onto it!

:P

All the best,
Richard

There were 2 exact spots on the old map where it would occur in, now the map has changed thats no help lol. I haven't found any spots it does it in yet on the new map.

I just logged on another computer and moved the character to stop it.

Hmm...if there were two spots where that happened, it leads me to believe that it occurs due to the map being complex enough that it overflows a buffer. I'll note it.
