think they were supposed to be a melee/spellcaster class that would create items.

Artisans are a special class. They don't get many spells of their own; however, they can craft items that give them special abilities--a staff that lets them cast hex mortis hydra, a shield that lets them enchant themselves with defense, etc.

Sooo how finished are they right now? Or would i have to wait to make 1. They sound like a cool class to level.

They're not implemented right now; they just get a basic spell set.
