After Karl adds you to the alpha testers group you'll be able to see the alpha testers private forum, and the download link is in there.

Assuming you posted in the who wants to be an alpha tester thread at the top of this forum he will add you as soon as he checks it and updates it.

Pretty much. It's restricted b/c it's still an Alpha: working out bugs, game not finished, etc. It's pretty damn cool all the same, though, so if you're willing to put up with a few minor headaches, it's well worth it.
