ok, how is this for an argument.

censoring words shouldn't be the responsibility of a webmaster. If someone isn't supposed to see the words, they are underage and should be restricted to viewing potentially unsuitable websites by their parent or guardian. punishing those who wish to have a casual, adult environment because of the ineptitude or neglect of a parent is unreasonable. Furthermore, the TOS of these webforums clearly states that monitoring such behavior is impossible and not against the rules unless federal laws are broken.

curse words are not necessary, and can detract from the friendliness of the forums.

euphemisms exist for a reason in our society--they make getting along together easier. We just extend that to the forums. If you haven't observed, online forums tend to get a little nastier than other forums of communication because of the anonymity factor. Stopping curse words is just a way to help hold that in check.

xentales used to have curse words censored, and they removed them. there really was no problem and people got along just the same.

if you are on this forum you probly play xen and probly came here through xentales so all people on here are probly old enough to swear lol. I dunno where people get the idea that little kids dont swear. they usually start early in elementary school lol.
