Not really a bug, but it's hard to pick stuff up. That's due to the allready mentioned hard-seeable items, but also due to pretty nitpicky controls. You have to exactly click the spot the items are on in order to pick them up, additionally my character also loved to just walk a few pixels past them.

Maybe a "loot surrounding area" key would be helpful, just have the auto-pickup area small in size to reduce possible drop theftery.

You're right. I've been having the same problem, but continued to forget to post it. It's not a bug, but it's certainly an issue.
Added:
  • It's difficult to pick items up: you have to click on the exact spot, which can be difficult. Perhaps it could be made less precise, or have an "auto-loot" function, press a key to loot the immediate (small-radius) area?

im reporting this bug which ive tested out, well here goes :D

If you go to the crypt and find the dragons you can do this.
kill all the skeletons so that the dragons will attack eachother, stand right beside the dragon and vortex, hit, putesco, vis putesco(etc.)

If you manage to kill the dragon it will give you quite the amount of experience points, i think it's about 80 000 each kill or something.

Though the dragons dont drop loot they can be killed unlike some others may have said, i found the bug and Deathstalker can confirm it works, should be removed emediatly( at least the huge amounts of exp) and maybe replace it with alot of exp and some decent gear.

Now Karl and Joe, what do you think off this exploit? :D

Carnage is lvl 23 and ive lvled 4 times today, 3 during testing the dragon bug.

i think i deserve a hug! :D

They sure do. All monsters are killing themselves right now. I'm not certain what makes the difference between getting EXP and not, but this bug needs to go.

Graphics -
-Trolls are now sliding because the world lags with the new added trees/grass/bushes.
-There is a delay on trans / you cannot transport when your being attacked (not sure if this was on purpose)
-Recall brings you to the last point you were, so if ur in monstros and use recall to sq, then go to trolls and use recall you go from trolls to monstros and vice versa.
-Mage damage needs to be modified, with all the best gear and the highest intelligence in the game it takes me 4 casts of puesdo to kill trolls, and 3 casts of Vis peesdo to kill monstro / 3 for trolls. 1 multi fire balls doesnt kill either of those (i would think int and level mattered) Level 17 and cant kill them fast.
-I get a lag spike every time I am in a spawn area?

* Lag is a problem right now in a large part b/c of our less-than-stellar server. We'll be upgrading soon, which should help a lot. That said, you're not the only person who has mentioned lag problems relative to the new vegetation, so I've added this to the list for Karl to look into.

* The delay/can't while being attacked is common to all spells. It's on the list.

* Recall is supposed to work like that.

* Added caster damage to the "balancing" list.

* Lag spike in spawn area? I don't think I've seen that one. Has anybody else been having this problem?

Karl, you remember the problem I've been having with this update when logging on? I'll click "enter world" and the game will freeze, though I'll hear sound; if I remember correctly, you said that my character flashes in the world and then disappears. Once or twice I've seen the world for an instant before the game closes itself.

I had thought that it was related to characters or accounts, but it seems to be more general than that: all three of my accts have this problem, and it doesn't seem to be tied to certain characters as I had first thought.

Now I've only been having this problem since 2.10 (one of the reasons I haven't been on--it takes me 10-15 minutes of trying to log in!), but Deathstalker has been having the same problem for a while (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1445&p=9469&hilit=sound#p9468).

Added:
  • Bug that certain players have experienced: game breaks upon clicking "enter world": Player hears in-game sounds, but game freezes on the character selection screen. Others in-game see character appear and then quickly disappear. Once or twice I've seen the world for an instant before the game closes itself.

Is anybody else having a problem with the game freezing upon entering the world?

AH! I bet I know what it is. The game loads a ton of crap when you log in, and it doesn't handle network messages until it's finished. As a result, the server thinks you've lagged out and disconnects you. This doesn't happen on faster computers since loading time is not really noticeable. I'll fix it for the update (big test tonight though)

Would the explanation you offer account for the behavior? Specifically, the closing of the program? (when it doesn't freeze, I see in-game for an instant, and then the game closes down).

Although a problem with loading would make sense since I've only been having this problem since 2.10, which had so much new content, you say that this should only be a problem for slower computers, but my computer is hardly slow: core2duo @ 2.0 GHz, 3 gigs ram. Nor is the problem confined to my damned spotty university wireless: I have the problem also on other, faster and more reliable networks (granted, these too are wireless). But it shouldn't even rely on the network if it's what you suggest, n'est-ce pas?

But I'm only guessing, not being familiar with the code itself. I'm sure you'll figure it out once you set yourself to it. I do look forward to your killing of this bug. It bugs me that I can't even log on. And I'm not kidding about that--it takes me 20 minutes of trying to get lucky. I'm not even bothering to try until the next update.

Wow, 20 minutes to log in definitely is a pain. I hope the behavior would explain it--and it should, because it's a combination of your computer's AGP bandwidth, memory speed, GPU speed and processor speed that affect this. It has nothing to do with the network connection. Try plugging your laptop into an AC outlet and see if that helps--most laptops slow down significantly to save power when running on battery.

I always play with my laptop plugged in, for that reason. I just keep trying until I get lucky, which usually takes around 20 minutes. Oh well, I can wait (probably better for my studies!).

I'll update the list later, but here are a few things:
  • The problem with global chat and leftover text is because the text is left over with '-' in front of it, not '--', and so goes to party chat rather than global.
  • The problem I had thought was with the Use menu not working is really a problem with the scroll: the Use, Inventory, and Drop menus all use the same scroll position, so when I'm scrolled to the bottom of the Drop menu, and go over to the Use menu, it looks blank. Three separate scroll positions would be best, or at least a separate position for Use (since, really, when are you ever going to have to scroll that menu?)
  • Alt+tab and sound goes away. :(
  • Balancing is fuxed more than I'd realized, and it's all in favour of the Knight: my lvl 10 Knight can take Spirits far easier than by lvl 18 Sorcerer.

Scrolling is fixed for next update by always resetting to the top of the list.

I'm working on something for global chat, I'm not sure I like the -- being global and - being group. Seems a bit hackish.

I've not logged on for most of the week. Just popped on and my whole inventory (and equipped) is gone. It says fixed, just wondering what's happening.

The bug that's listed is fixed, but there's more than one inventory bug right now. The problem is that if you've logged in recently, the server hasn't committed your information to permanent storage on the hard drive. If the server crashes before it does, then your stuff is lost. Yes, this is a huge problem. Yes, I'm fixing it for next update

  • Ability to split stacks, plz

i rather like stacking rings, cause after a while you get tons of them, what about u can only move one at a time? :)

Oh, I like stacking rings too. But right now stacking isn't working, so I may as well have 1 ring, 'cause my 2nd isn't doing me any good.

well i was thinkin more in the ways of storing rings and makin more space :D it could do the same in inventory aswell just to get a good overlook.

  • More geolings, plz, to prevent crowding.
  • /join has a very low radius, such that I have to attack someone to get close enough to join.
  • "Inventory Full" message, plz.

  • Problem with names and deleting: certain names I've used before and since deleted the characters thereof still trigger the "name already in use." This doesn't happen for all names I've created/deleted, but just for a couple ("Lillian," from old acct, may not be deleted; "Mule," from current acct, just deleted last week but can't reuse name).
  • Consumable stacks: moving to/from storage stacks don't get combined; when using, game pulls from first stack listed in inventory instead of (as would be preferable, for the sake of clean inventories) from stack with least (which should always be last stack listed in inventory once the problem with storage is fixed).

hey after trying the game for the first time, i had to say CONGRATS!! :D
damn good work you did, i realy got the same feeling as i first played xenimus back in the days.

but i got some bugs. and some questions, but i will figure those out myself:P because thats the game hehe
first bug is a known bug, the hair shield and stuff floats around the character.
second is that i keep losing gear, and no i did not die :P
i had a leather belt on, and when i was hunting i checked what i found, and i noticted i didnt had my belt on.

i had one leather belt with me, but not on me, i dont know if i found it or if it just unattachted from my char.

ooh and i dont know if you are planning to keep this map. but on the right, there is a wall and behind that there are slaying monsters :( they killed in a glimp.

aah well, maybe i wasnt supposed to go there, keep on the good work and i will be playing :D
