All forums will be subject to normal posting rules: There will be no FFA (no rules) type forums.
Alignment status forums just aren't plausible as the player habits and alignment changes on a daily basis.
There is a system to display character names under your avatar already in place.

Just wanted to say that this is a great idea and I'd love to see a new forum up as we roll into the final release!

I don't have a lot of experience with message board creation, and it doesn't look like many other people here do either. I might suggest that you go through forum creation sites and see what you might like in the new forum. Then discuss it here so that other people can see what kind of considerations go into the creation. I think this will inspire a little more feedback.

Well, since nobody replied for like.. 3 weeks Construction has already started. It'll look similar to the main site.

Well, the aesthetic parts are pretty much done, but any suggestions as to what Forums there should be within the board would be nice. (World Chat/Bugs/Technical Issues/things like xenimus's FFA)

Should have Morn's FaQ, so newbs can learn shite and it should be updated for every new stuff that gets added.

Is world chat going to include both gameplay and casual topics?
Are you accepting applications for moderators?

Are you thinking of limiting vulgarity, if so recomment NOT creating a vulgarity permissable forum as xentales did, in order to protect board content quality. I think the untrackable and unmoderated speech in the game is well enough, and not likely to be cared about by parents of most younger demographics, but a vulgar forum representing the game could turn many concerned families into finding the game unsuitable. I know that many families these days game together (my own family all have active Runescape accounts and I know many households where Warcraft is a family pasttime.) I'm not trying to be a prick about this suggestion, but I feel that we can definitely learn from the xentales mistakes.

For board administration/moderation you will need to talk to my brother, if he doesn't reply to this soon I'll ask him about it and try to get you some info.

World Chat in this board is described as anything about game events. I can't speak for my brother, but I think it would be more organized to have a forum for game related topics and a forum for real life/"casual" related topics. I supposed there's also the possibility for having only game-related topics on the entire board.

I think Suggestions can be merged with the bugs forum, for the reasons that they will most likely be cross-posted anyways, and Karl's likely to be reading every post in those forums personally, I would think it'd be easier for him to have one forum to look at.

I also think it should be encouraged to post suggestions in the World Chat first so that they can be criticized at length to avoid swamping the forum with incomplete ideas, but this is splitting hairs.

Should definitely be a forum. You can place all of your (Add this!) or (I think this spell should be removed!) Suggestion's

Bugs/Game play Issues - seems pretty solid.

I just started playing but you should also add to the user portion a spot to list your characters too under a forum name.

Ehm, any of you seen blizzards forums? i kinda f-ing love their idea, the Account they play is bound to their forum, so their avatar is their casters class, lvl, guild name.

that way nobody will be able to troll without getting whupped later

^^^Agreed. Not sure how easy it would be to do that, but it's a grand idea

yeah but the fun part about that, nobody takes low lvls superserious, so it will all be like "bla bla bla"

I am definitely in favor of linking forum accounts to game accounts. I don't know how feasible that is for us, at least in the near future, but I'd love to see it happen at some point.

That would probably have to be done from the games end. Having forum accounts be registered (1 per account) only through the game (in account menu) is the only way I can see that happening. At this time though, it's a voluntary action to display character names under avatar.

It can be done with ease.
