September 6, 2008 - Version 1.6.0, 1.7.0 - brand new map!!

Okay everyone!! It's out!

Version 1.6.0: http://www.unseenstudios.com/evidyon/download/evidyon-setup.msi
Patch to 1.7.0: http://www.unseenstudios.com/evidyon/download/evidyon.exe (download and put in C:\Program Files\Evidyon)
Note: 1.7.1 changed item drop method. No download is necessary.

BE SURE TO /RESPAWN WHEN YOU LOG IN!


Version 1.6.0 has a whole bunch of updates:
  • Type "-" in front of text to GLOBAL CHAT
  • The world is HUGE!
  • Monsters now attack intelligently and don't get stuck as frequently
  • The middle of the circle of bricks at the spawning area is a safe zone where damage is reflected
  • Melee classes now have an area of effect spell
  • There are monsters to hunt from level 2 to level 40
  • All items are now dropped by monsters
  • Monster strength & exp significantly adjusted
  • Zoomed out the camera
  • I spent a few hours and came up with a pretty good looking "run" animation
  • Shields look a lot more pimp now
  • There are mountains in the world and a new kind of blackened terrain
  • Probably more stuff that I'm missing


Version 1.7.0 fixes:
  • Drop items on death--yes, all of them (for now)
  • as per a request I received in-game, "strike" has a greater range and width
  • Global chat is fixed

Version 1.7.1 fixes:
  • Drop only inventory/randomly 1 item on death. It was too hard to hunt otherwise.

I worked 6 PM - 3 AM last night and 7 AM until now (1 pm) on this...so I'm probably missing some changes that you'll just have to figure out :)

And just for the list (because i know i will forget it hehe):
-chatlog
-archers stop shooting if you don't move (atleast sometimes)
-bjs are consumable (err...i think you get this one hehe)

I think we can cut him some slack for working so long lol.

You missed out that pressing "V" changes to top down view in the change log.

As per karls request.
- items need to stay on the ground longer then 40secs and not disappear when you leave the screen.
- non adepts need more balancing, possibly more mp regen or more mp for caster classes while adepts are still in the game as they can't compete with no consumables.
- mobs that come up to my character often make it impossible to move away from them, i get stuck inside the mob, usually resulting in my death :(.
- at the very edge of the safe spawn area, just one "square" off, you can attack from but not be attacked yourself.

This just happened to my warrior.
I had a Grendren magi and Boneclawer? (Not sure on 2nd it's slipping my memory at the moment) and killed Magi, but got stuck in the 2nd one dying.

Thats strange. Try going into start>evidyon>config.ini
Then change ForceSoftwareRendering=0 to ForceSoftwareRendering=1 then save and exit. It should just open in notepad.
Looks like it tried to force itself into software but failed. Also go into the directory that you installed evidyon in (default=C:/Program Files/Evidyon/), and make sure that evidyon.gme is located in there.

You have to put "evidyon.exe" in the SAME folder that you selected when installing the game using "evidyon-setup.msi". Replace the installed executable with the one you downloaded.
