Update to the update: the server should be much more responsive now, and the time for a monster to portal in when spawning has been reduced to 1 second.

Ah. Very nice, thank you. This helps a lot.

Can we expect another couple mini-updates this week (say, to address the drop bug), or are we next looking forward to a big one?

The mini update you made Karl was awsome man, now if you can only implement a currency system which is easy to handle(i suggest Copper, silver,Gold)
And shopkeepers along with some more space so people wont crash into eachother and you can almost release this baby man :D

Got a question though, is it possible to implement something to the config? like Cursor movement ? (no biggy man just thought it was not that fast)

With the uber work Thadius is doing on models, and the alpha testers really saying what they mean and you putting your heart to it, with all that we might actually have a beta soon.

Just wanna say good work, looking forward to any mini-tweaks you might be throwing inn!

Economy is in the works for next (big) update. Thanks for the encouragement!

What do you mean by the last part about cursor movement? If you think the cursor isn't very responsive, increase the speed in the Control Panel--Evidyon just uses whatever the default Windows cursor uses.

another mini-update:
- mouse cursor changes for casting spells. weird side effect: when you click on something to attack it, the mouse flips
- high level monsters drop items now!
- the bug where you don't stop moving after releasing the mouse button is fixed
- put putesco back at level 7 for Sorcerers but reduced the damage
- extended the length of all buff spells to 5-6 minutes
- spawn time for monsters reduced to 1/2 second after portal opens

This works great! These two mini-updates sure have helped. I'm loving Vis Putesco.

I think the only two things left to do as far as small fixes go are adjust the EXP and maybe move the names back down to the bottom so they aren't covered by the chat log.

poo cant wait until i get home to test this poo out :D

Btw, why not ask Ej how he balanced the damage system he had? or if anybody can do some private work on that so Karl does not have to handle it all alone :?:

Anyway, looking forward to comming home to my house and there not being any girlfriend nagging me on about that i have to spend more time with her

With the damage system, it should (oddly) become easier to balance once we have more monsters and other content as reference. So the real fine-tuning will have to wait for Beta: anything we "fix" now will probably be discovered to be broken once we have a more varied world in which to play. I think the damage should be good enough to work with as it is for now (it seems that way to me--but then again I like the low damage). But we'll definitely be putting a *lot* of thought into getting this just right once we're in Beta. In fact, considerations such as damage balancing will be one of the primary purposes of Beta (the other being adding content).

lol, cant wait until you get that "i have no intel shock though" and you really will be doing low dmg lol, which is exactly why Mm3 had to use Flamma ventus or something to pk, cause he was all hp and stuff. :D (though it made me basically unkillable)

Solomon is built to be a tank, not a pker. I'm shooting for high CON/WIS and low INT/AGI. Right now I'm boosting my AGI 'cause it's a bit low, but I plan to be unkillable soon enough.

I just started a new caster designed for AGI/INT, though, and look forward to seeing how he develops. Name is Teurkos (after a particular Homeric hero).

But I am finding caster damage to be pretty low. It's impracticable for me to kill Blade Horrors with spells at lvl 3--it takes too many Incendias. Oh well, like I said--probably good enough to go on for now, even if it's a little inconvenient.

im gonna find me some fucking bejewled rings once i logg on, gonna grind for hours!
Btw solomon a tank? what happens with your defence when we get all leathered ?

if i remember correctly.

Fighter/paladin/Dw/barbarian = plate/leather
Wizards/Warlocks,Druids,rangers = leather/robes

Which i might add just got me thinking that the problem with balancing is cause there is no requirements for armors and weapons yet(just a thought though)

That's certainly part of the problem. That's why the real balancing has to wait. But he'll be a (magic-based) tank nonetheless: with as high of a WIS as he has his defensive spells should be very powerful.

Good luck finding those bejeweled rings! Since the rare drop was lowered so much I've hardly found any rings at all. You'll have best luck with gear (if not EXP) hunting Mons/Spirits.
