Error: Application configuration incorrect

Postby kuba » Tue Jan 09, 2007 8:52 am

When I run mapmaker.exe I get an error, "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

Also, I should mention that the vshader or test program you had for download on xentales.com didn't work either.

Karl if you could either pm me or im me on aim we can try an get this fixed.

Yup. If the vertex shader didn't work, that shouldn't matter--this program doesn't use it (yet)

That's odd...when we get to animations and stuff I'll be sure to take a look at it to make it more compatible.

Kuba--what are your system specs? Do you have DirectX 9.0c?

Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, SP2
Amd Athlong 64 Processor 3500+ 2.21ghz
1gb ram
DirectX 9.0c

I looked into the error on google from what I understood it has to do with developers using microsoft visual studio and my lack of runtime files and/or manifest files? No idea what that is but i'm thinking maybe I need to download c++ runtime files, although I have absolutely no idea where to get them.

Huh, you shouldn't need the manifest file...that's only an XML document for runtime debugging. It's embedded in the app anyway.

Try downloading this and putting it in the same directory:
