There's a definite line between "ripping off" and creating a work similar to something. We are recreating the "old" xenimus, which was a different enough game from modern Xenimus that I don't think that will be an issue. The problem comes in blatantly taking EJ's work and calling it our own. That is plagiarism, and I won't have any of it. I'll make up the new names for races myself but I'd much prefer that the community be involved. That's what you guys are here for!

The sad thing is, PV will have better graphics and more cool things that Xen doesn't lol...
Dregs are half human, half ogre, so just think of something that is a mixture of the 2.
Scallions could be called anything that is related to a lizard. You could even take a name from another game, because I doubt they are ever going to be like, OMG PROJECT VOLUCRIS coppied me!
Behocks were summoned by Oreseth or something as said in the description, so they should look completely different than dregs.

I didnt think we were having behocks in PV. I still dont know wtf a behock is, it definatly wasnt in old xenimus.

Call them Reptiloids and Half-Ogres, unless we get better names. Behocks are basically clones of dregs anyways, so they're not needed.

elf=agility
gnome=wisdom
xantusian(scally)=intell

viking(behock)=cons
Races

Human - Human
Elf - Elf
Gnome - Halfling
Scallion - Scelope (from the word Sceloporus)
Dreg - Valian (from the word Validus)
BEHOCK (EXSTINCT)
5 races is good enough, there is no real point in buying or making new models for behocks when all stats as a base are 10 10 10 10 10 with 25 to spend.
By the way I am working on a little something that I will be posting sooner or later.

you can use the same model, just change hair/skin textures.
whats Validus? the comic book character? or the WoW Guild?something else?
heres a chart for MAX beggining stats. likes/dislikes? each character has 90 points.

I think we should stick to the classical point allocations.
- Code: Select all
S A C I W
Dreg 22 18 21 15 14
Elf 16 22 16 18 18
Scallion 20 16 16 22 18
Gnome 18 16 16 18 22
Behock isn't needed because it is a Dreg with str and cons switched, as well as int and wis. They are all one point differences.

there will be no class restrictions, however the begging stats will be suggestive as to what your character should be.
are thoes begging stats off of xenimus? would we runinto problems?

Guys I like the way ur game is heading , I think this will turn out to be a great game , better than Xenimus(personally). I'm just hoping that u guys will do a great job and not screw everything up like Ej did
. Oh and I like the Non-restrictions of the race combinations , old school style , Scallion-Cleric , Scallion-Paladin.

Since dregs and behocks are just lame human-wannabes anyways, how about to take a orc-model instead, or maybe a totally new one? ^^

That's do-able, however in the mean time we need to get new models for everything so we might as well make them distinct. I'm going to be ordering from ... that one site that escapes my mind currently...where we got the maid model as soon as I get the next resource editor online. This thing is going to be, for lack of a better word, BITCHIN
