Well After i got the download pm , here is what i got from the .zip file. I got 3 files from it , Media(containing items.bmp ... ect.) Client.exe , and map4.pv2.. Any idea why my volucris ISNOT working????????/

hey, i got tha download, tha thing is, when i open it .. everythings all fine, but tha thing is, im unable to make an account .. if i cant make an account, i cant create a character. even trying to make a new account is hard. any suggestions here? so my problem is, trying to make an account.

tha tabs, Create Character, Log In and Account just wont let me do anything.

I'm sorry that PV isn't working for you guys...I'm taking a look at the code to see if anything's wrong, but I haven't come up with any ideas yet. As the basic code will change as soon as I get this resource editor working, I'm hoping to do a series of tests to make sure it will be compatible with all of your computers. At this point, I can't even play my own game so believe me I'm definitely trying to fix these issues

Incidentally, I just thought of this: have you created an account? you have to hit "create account" type a password, hit "create account" again; then afterward log into your account, then go make a character.

you mean, "new account"? i did that and nothing worked. even clickon on Prime then going into Account, click on, "new account" enter password, click "new account" again. but hey, if this is a problem that cant be solved, im not gunna whine for it to work for my own pleasure. so i'll wait till tha next update comes out.

Yeah man, I have no idea why it wouldn't be working unless something on the server has changed without me knowing it. So for now, if you can, wait for the next update. I know it sucks to wait...sorry, it's coming as fast as possible!

indeed it does suck to wait, anyways i guess ill wait a year or so to play this, or get a new comp. Dont know yet.

I GOT IT TO WORK , WOOT , OMG IM SO HAPPY. Anyways when will the account creator be fixed?

And also when i click on Volucris Prime , i click ok afterwards. It takes me to main menu screen and i try to make an account , still wont let me, i go back to check and see if im on volucris prime , no im not , so I dunno whats wrong , anyways now that i know it works , IM WAITING!!

WAIT! the IP of the server may have changed!!!! DUH thats so simple... let me see if that's the case...
YES! I fixed it, all that was different was the server's IP. I'll release a new version this evening.

it was a client update; unfortunately you have to redownload. I'm adding this to my "to-do" list

can i get the new client download, the one with the account creater fixed?

The application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

that is the error i continue to recieve...any help please? (yes i have all the downloads that were posted earlier, i have downloaded the new client and nothing is working...)

Hmm that's really weird; if you installed SxS you should not be getting that error at all. Try downloading this ZIP file. Extract its contents, then move the files it contains to the SAME directory as Client.exe:

i've done it before...along with the other ones....still not work

i still can't create an accout...i click volc prime click ok, go to account then new account, i put in my password then hit new account again go to login and im brought to the new account screen with no account number..

Yeah, I still can't play after installing everything. Sucky. =[

Got to love .NET and SxS.

OK, the so called "DLL hell" of incompatible or conflicting DLLs is pretty annoying, I got to admit, but missing assemblies is even more annoying, personally. Why don't you do a final build using MinGW that relies on native DLLs with no assemblies? Unless your code is filled with __asm { } blocks and every violation of the C/C++ standard, a gcc-like compiler is insanely forgiving -- it practically turns your abortion into an executable.

For development though, VS is quite possibly the best environment.
Anyways, is there any convincing reason that you must do a SxS deployment?
