1.9 bugs / stuff that needs changing

New Bugs/Issues

  • Mace has no stats heh.
  • Mob damage increased (might be intended?).
  • Bring back the in game screen hot keys. The inventory especially as it takes ages to go through drops this way, though the menu is a good addition.
  • GUI on the HUD needs work, the mouse over menu needs something to actually mouse over for user conformation.
  • /respawn can respawn you off the safety square.
  • Idle animation seems a little sluggish.
  • With the increased range on strike, some mobs (trolls especially) tend to kill each other while hitting your character.
  • Players need a way to cancel out of gas form.
  • Not sure on the conditions for this but after I killed a group of mobs, moved away from that screen for a while to kill another few groups and when I came back to the drops of the original group I could see the items on the floor but not pick them up.

Fixed bug amendments

  • Dropped items after you die could do with staying on the ground longer, at least for the time being as we have no way to transport across the map and only having one spawn point.

Bugs carried over from 1.8

  • The first time I log in to my account I have to click on my characters name twice to log into that character.
  • Dead bodies sometimes slide across the map.
  • When trying to pick up a pile of items when you have a full inventory it makes it impossible for anyone else to pick up the pile.
  • I still get stuck inside mobs if I run into them.
  • The included map is STILL the old version and not the recompiled one with the fixed edges :( .
  • The inventory's scroll bars are hard to grab, you have to click just right of the bar.
  • Inventory scroll bar does not reset to the top after you close and reopen the inventory window (the actual inventory does however).
  • When picking up items, placement into inventory seems to be random unless your inventory is cached on the server after logging out/a set period of time.
  • Mobs still spawn inside mountains, haven't seen any in the water yet though it is the same bug/mobs spawn inside each other.
  • When equipping items, inventory resets its self back to the top.
  • Weird text bug when scrolling through inventory.
  • Player names/chat can be seen through in game screens.

Stuff that needs changing/adding

  • MP regen could be increased slightly more while there are no consumables in game.
  • No way to delete your characters.
  • Improved mob progression.
  • Perpetual spawn areas like a graveyard or a castle, it just seems to be never ending fields/No landmarks.
  • Chat box/chat log needs to be added.
  • Scroll wheel should scroll through inventory.
  • Updater should tell the user they have the most up to date client if this is true.

...when one thread just isn't enough? :p

Anyways, i add mine here too:
- Second camera has a pretty weird viewing angle (like if the first view got rotated by 120-180 degrees) and it seems to change slightly depending on where you have the mouse cursor when changing the viewpoint (not 100% sure about the second part...just seems to me like it)

Edit: Btw karl, that was the reason i asked you yesterday if you changed the map. ^^

OK: I'm going to take a look at this stuff for a quick update sometime in the near future.

I wanted to ask, though--the "Classic" camera is *exactly* the same as it is in Xenimus...does Xen seem to close?

Try overlaying screenshots with Photoshop to see what I mean

I agree about the classic camera, the perfect distance for me was in the previous version (lot more zoomed out).
And maybe it seems more zoomed in than in xen because the models differ in size (allthough tiles look larger to me too). o0

Edit: Actually you're right karl, the tiles look exactly like in xen considering distance. I bet it's the different sized models. :J

Edit²: And the second camera mode definetely changes it's viewing angle everytime i choose it. :s

Lol, I like to have my list at the top of a thread for quick and easy editing.. and these are my bug threads, MINE!

I overlayed screenshots, roughly counted about 17 tiles across? in both Xen and Ev. Anyway the camera is the same distance as Xen's however Xen's models are slightly smaller then Ev's. I prefered the further zoomed out camera to the close up one of Xen. Maybe add another camera mode to zoom it out and have the close up as default.

Going to get started on spell usage/mp costs tonight as I probably have the most viable character to test with out of everyone. That's going to be a fun slog :( lol.

When in inventory (not sure if it does it when in other menus too), when you move your mouse to the top right to bring up the hud, it brings it up but with no text and the buttons dont respond to clicking.

Im still getting messed up text like i was in the previous version in the inventory screen sometimes.

More to come, but im am busy :(.

Some observations concerning figs/melee:
Attackspeed seems very high atm (i have a hard time pushing the keys fast enough to get the max possible speed on my 30agil char :p).
And str now is a bit low (lvl23 - 40str does around 150 damage/hit with firestrike, lvl15 - 22str does around 80 damage/hit). 18 str difference (+ 8 levels) and only 70 more damage.

I think upping str a bit and lowering agil a bit could be the next balancing step (and yeah, i know how ungrateful balancing is hehe). :J

Thanks for the note. I'll tak this into consideration for 1.11

Couple more things.

-Cant trans on safe zone (may be intended?)
-If you log in and there is another player standing where you are, you get stuck in them and are unable to get out unless you trans away (off of the safe zone) or go into gas form.
-Update to my previous post about pulling up the hud when in inventory and no text shows up on the hud. That is a result of the messed up text bug. It only doesnt show the words and is unresponsive when the inventory text gets all 'garbaged' up.
-You can open up the hud and select inventory, open the hud back up and select keys, open the hud back up and select stats, and each respective menu will open and not cancel out the rest of the menus. It seems like if you have inventory open, and open the hud back up and select another menu (stats or key) it should close out of the inventory menu and open the newly selected menu up.
-The scroll bar in the keys menu is difficult to grab. Actually i noticed the actual location you have to grab is further to the right of the scroll bar then the scroll bar is.

This ones is really weird. When i move my mouse over the bottom half of my inventory screen i get this. I cant get it to go out of that either by moving my mouse back. I have to hit esc to close out of the inventory menu.

I also noticed this. Quite annoying! Could you please try making the hit box bigger and maybe moving it towards the middle?

I noticed that when I am walking away from enemies I'll sometimes get stuck in the single enemy following me which ends up getting my slaughtered.

Bone Staff, and other 2H staves don't seem to have a graphic from what I've noticed (this may have been posted).

From what I hear certain items don't seem to be dropping at all, while others that didn't drop often before seem to be dropping a ton. Example being rings, Rings are plentiful at the moment to where bone cleavers and the like are extremely rare if at all found.

This is all I've noticed so far. Keep up the good work people!

one more thats obviously carried over from before 1.8 when you press escape during account creation, it closes the game, perhaps in either 1.10 or 1.11 you could change that karl :) thanks

Master Magis doesn't get close enough to attack you. He stands far enough away for his spells not to hit you.
